Eating nuts can actually help keep your cholesterol levels in check

Contrary to popular belief, nuts don’t deserve their bad reputation due to fat content. The fat in nuts is monounsaturated, and that means it is good for heart health.

A recent study reported in Circulation (Sept 02) stated that consuming 24 almonds a day for one month cut the bad LDL cholesterol by four percent and raised the good HDL cholesterol by five percent. Nuts are also rich in fibre and magnesium, making them a key part of a healthy diet.

Almonds make a great snack and will assist in stabilizing blood sugar levels between meals.
